The Somali Intellectual Forum’s organizational structure ensures effective leadership, collaboration, and accountability. It incorporates key roles and departments to support its vision, mission, and programs. Below is the proposed structure:
1. Executive Leadership
1.1 Chairperson
- Represents the forum at official events and with partners.
- Provides strategic direction and ensures alignment with SIF’s vision and mission.
- Oversees the execution of major initiatives and goals.
1.2 Vice-Chairperson
- Assists the Chairperson in leadership duties.
- Acts as the Chairperson in their absence.
- Provides additional support for key strategic initiatives.
1.3 Executive Director
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of SIF.
- Coordinates with department heads to implement programs and strategies.
- Prepares and presents reports on the forum’s progress to the leadership team and board.
2. Advisory Board
- Composed of intellectuals, scholars, and community leaders.
- Provides guidance on policies, programs, and strategic direction.
- Ensures the forum adheres to its mission and values.
3. Core Departments and Roles
3.1 Administration and Finance Department
- Finance Manager: Manages budgets, fundraising, and financial reporting.
- Administrative Officer: Ensures smooth operation of the headquarters, manages logistics, and oversees staff welfare.
3.2 Programs and Initiatives Department
- Programs Coordinator: Develops, implements, and monitors programs and initiatives.
- Youth Empowerment Officer: Focuses on youth mentorship and leadership programs.
- Women Empowerment Coordinator: Oversees initiatives promoting gender equality and women’s participation in leadership.
- Cultural Preservation Lead: Manages projects aimed at preserving Somali heritage and traditions.
3.3 Research and Publications Department
- Research Director: Oversees research projects and initiatives.
- Publication Editor: Manages the production of research papers, articles, and reports.
- Research Analysts: Conduct studies on key topics relevant to the Somali community.
3.4 Public Relations and Communications Department
- Communications Manager: Develops communication strategies and oversees media relations.
- Social Media Officer: Manages SIF’s social media platforms, ensuring active engagement with the audience.
- Website Manager: Maintains and updates the SIF website (siforum.org).
3.5 Community Outreach and Advocacy Department
- Community Engagement Officer: Coordinates forums, public dialogues, and grassroots initiatives.
- Advocacy Specialist: Leads campaigns addressing social justice issues, including discrimination and minority inclusion.
3.6 Innovation and Technology Department
- Technology Coordinator: Supports tech-driven programs and initiatives.
- Innovation Specialist: Promotes youth-led startups and innovative projects in the Somali Region.
4. Regional Chapters
- Each chapter is led by a Regional Coordinator, who reports to the Executive Director.
- Chapters are responsible for implementing SIF programs locally and identifying community-specific needs.
5. Volunteer Network
- SIF will also have a pool of volunteers who assist with events, outreach programs, and other initiatives. Volunteers are critical for the forum’s grassroots activities and capacity-building programs.
Reporting and Accountability
- Reporting Lines: All department heads report to the Executive Director, who in turn reports to the Chairperson and Advisory Board.
